Arrival and Dismissal Procedures

Arrival

  • Students may enter the building beginning at 8:25 a.m.
  • Students are to enter through the front doors located by the front office and are to go directly to breakfast in the cafeteria or to the gym and remain in that area until the bell rings.
  • Students are not to go to lockers or classrooms before the first bell unless they have prior teacher permission and can show documentation of it. For example, students may have a special notation on their ID badge to go to the band room for extra practice.
  • Students entering the building through doors other than the designated front doors will be stopped and redirected unless they attend the before-school program, PNA.

Dismissal

  • What constitutes a half-day? Morning half-days are from 8:55 to 12:25. Afternoon half-days are 12:25 to 3:55.
  • Normal dismissal begins at 3:55 for both car and bus riders.
  • Fifth grade students will be dismissed before other grades and will be accompanied by a teacher during dismissal time.
  • The remaining grades will be dismissed by grade level and will be monitored by their grade level teachers as they exit.
  • A student must have a note for the teacher if there is a change in the regular mode of transportation. If a student is going to another student's house after school and a change of transportation is required, both students must provide a note showing each parent has given permission for this to occur.
